How do decorate with chocolate: Some tips

To decorate with chocolate is an art and science of perfectly blending a balanced variety of ingredients, giving the decoration a designer look on a tasty base. There are many tools available nowadays that can make the whole thing easier.

But you need to work on it, practice a lot, to bring perfection and ready-made choco-writers can help. You may have seen top chefs and bakers on television cuisine shows, using such tubes to create stunning designs on cakes, pastries and cupcakes. These tubes are perfectly handy and if you are a chocolate aficionado, you should always keep a stock of such tubes.

These tubes are available in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate. You can find them in supermarkets or you can buy online.

There are many cake decoration suppliers who provide doorstep delivery of quality choco-writing tubes. You just need to do a bit back-ground checking and definitely make sure that the seller doesn’t use any artificial flavour or hydrogenated fat in the choco-products.

The easiest way to start will be to design lattice shapes. Just follow the tips mentioned below --
• Spread baking paper or wax paper on a tray. You can even try on a clean chopping board.
• Now just open the choco-writing tube and start making shapes. These tubes are absolutely ready-to-use. Try easy shapes in the beginning, like heart, flower, stars etc.
• If you want solid geometric shapes, you need to pour the chocolate first and then spread it, shape it using a spatula.
• After you are done, leave the tray aside. Shapes are set in room temperature but if you are staying in a hot humid locality, refrigerate for some time.
• Now, when your chocolate decorations are ready, pick them and adorn the cakes. You can break a long lace into smaller pieces and put individual pieces on the frosting swirls deposited on the cupcakes or set the entire lace on a fondant-covered cake.
