Some easy yet smart ideas to decorate birthday cakes for kids

While you are planning a birthday party for your little rock star, you definitely consider his or her choice in all aspects of menu, guest list and party decoration. In this birthday bash, don’t underestimate the central attraction of the event, the cake. Though you are a good baker and can bake a really tasty cake, that is not enough for an occasion like this. Think about decorating it in an amazing way that your sweetheart and the guests feel fascinated with your expertise.

First of all you should bake a simple chocolate or vanilla cake as the base. These two are universal flavours. Now apply a coat of butter cream icing of the colour and flavour loved by your little one. Usually kids love strawberry, chocolate, pineapple, butterscotch and vanilla icing for their cakes. From here, your designer journey starts.  Here are some ideas or tips to decorate a birthday cake in very easy yet lovely style:

• You can coat the whole cake with tiny sprinkle. There are a variety of jemmies, sugar strands, hearts and many other sprinkling items, available to be picked according to your choice. Adding meringues, fudges and other confectionery tops is also a good choice.
• Just melt some chocolate and pour over the cake and when it is cooled enough pipe some simple flowers or any simple pattern with the help of the icing tube.
• One more trick of sprinkle decoration; crush a milk chocolate or a dark chocolate and sprinkle all over the cake.
• Add his or her favourite fruits or dry fruits over the cake. You can apply a single fruit or a combination of more.
• Edible print sheets of popular cartoon characters are available in the market. Pick any and apply on the cake. So simple, but your kid will love it.
• If you are good in piping work then show your skill by creating some delightful flower or other designer pattern.
