Who adds into your cake – Plastic or Natural Edible stuff?

Cake glitters are a great thing – not because they look awesomely attractive and uniquely blessed, they come in different color and size combinations. But do you know a whole lot of debate is going on around the usefulness and practicability of edible glitters? People had been charged recently and earlier to promote plastic prepared glitters as edible. So, before you decorate your cake with glitter, be informed what you are serving to your friends and relatives on your birthday is actually edible and you are not playing with their health.

First, be informed which type of glitters are edible?

Cake glitters can be of two types – either edible or non-edible. Non-edible glitters are mostly made from plastic and harmful elements and labeled as non toxic without necessarily having the label edible. Whereas; edible glitters are labeled as both non toxic and edible or safe to eat label.  So, if you have decorated your cake with plastic cake glitters; ensure that you have separated glitters from cake in order to withstand any risks.

While shopping, carefully note the label of your glitter. If you have any query, as the shop owner or ask the distributor or manufacturer. Legally, they need to mention details. Undone, you can raise the matter to your nearest local authority or food inspector.
